Hello, hop fans!

Here is an update from On Tap Clothing. The shirts are slowing moving and people are starting to notice! From Alaska to Greece the shirts are making their way to hop fans! We've had a brewer order four of them and wore them in his wedding. Mr. Jason Chavez, head brewer at Seabright Brewing in Santa Cruz, CA got married Sunday, October 9th and wanted to state his love for craft beer with our shirt! Pictures to come.

So a couple of festivals, a Facebook page and me trying to wear the shirt around is what constitutes our marketing strategy. Find us on Facebook: On Tap Clothing and tell friends about us! We can take credit cards now and not just Paypal.

Cheers to harvest season and wet hopped beers!

Hello hop fans!

No it's not harvest season but it is Hop Hawaiian shirt season! It took a little over a year to get the shirts done and they are here. The color is great and the feel is exactly what we were going for. I tested it at the Socal Homebrew fest last weekend and was very hoppy with the results. If you have been looking for a cool hop shirt to wear to your next festival, this one might be it. You'll be the hoppiest around!

I want a shirt!

Hello hop fans!

We have great news! The shirt order has been approved and is shipping. The shirts need to clear customs and should be here next week. We went through shoulder, neck, belly and arm measurement changes, woven label samples, color proofing and screen quality issues. This idea got rolling about March of 2009 and it's April 2010 so it has taken over a year to do one shirt! We would like thank everyone that supported us through the pre-order days and appreciate your patience! Hop fans are an awesome group of people!

Cheers to hops and barley and let us know how you like/dislike your shirt.

Cheers [;]!

Here is our update for Feb 1, 2010

We have all the color strike offs approved and the fabric is in the printing process. It's about 1000 yards total to print four colors and the cutting and sewing will be next. We have a contract signed and the shirts will be air-shipped to us from India, scheduled to land on March 30. All pre-orders will be shipped the week they come in.

We thank everyone for their patience as this is our first time and a bit stressful because we have all of your pre-orders waiting. Pliny the Younger is being released this week and we have no shirts yet! That was our goal but it didn't happen. = (
In the future we know to order these things three months in advance!

Cheers and have a Hoppy Day!

Glenn and Marla

Our latest new on the Hops and Barley Hawaiian shirt:

The shirt designs are in to the manufacturer. We received hand screened color samples back last Tuesday and had to give comments. The darkest green didn't come out as dark as we wanted and the barley was pixelated so we requested verification for darker and sharper. Their reply is pending. My wife assures me that it will be sharp but I want confirmation from the printer. This is something we've wanted to do for years so it has to be correct. Long story short, they told us that it would take 90 days for production and 45 for delivery! My wife wrote back that we are hoping to get these by the Holiday's and since it's only 300 shirts, maybe they can expedite it. We are also requesting air-shipping which would get it here in about two weeks versus 6 on a boat. Long story short, a Hoiday delivery date is not in our future.

This snag has really saddened us and beer just doesn't taste the same. The shirts will be made, that is a guarantee, we just didn't have an idea of how much it takes to get this thing produced. The big companies get preferential treatment and we're small time so I guess it's the back of the line.

All of the money is still in the PayPal account and can be refunded. If you have a pre-order for a holiday gift, we are sorry, you might have to give it around the Pliny the Younger release date.

Please email to: hopnation@ontapclothing.com for a full refund if needed.

Cheers to Hops!

Glenn and Marla

Hawaiian Hop Shirts update. One prototype sample came in and they sewed it with the hops facing upward! Though it would make a nice pine cone shirt, we would like the hops to face downward! They are working on another with the hops facing the correct way. The final quality will be pure black. These prototypes were done on a fabric printer so the blacks will be less saturated and 40% larger in scale than the final.

Cheers and have a hoppy day!

Glenn

Hello and Hoppy November!

Well we have the artwork off to the printer and are expecting some color samples back soon for either tweaking or give the ok. If they hit the colors correctly, we'll go ahead and crack a Pliny...and get some samples made. The first batch will be 300 shirts. We are still on target to get them back before the Holiday's so we'll keep this moving as fast as possible.

Marla, my wife is the clothing designer and I love to draw hops and barley so other shirts are in the works.

I hop everyone has a great November with all the Winter beer releases!

Cheers [;]!

Glenn

This week we are expecting some prototype fabric to arrive so we can make a couple of samples. Once we get them made we can post some pictures as to what they'll look like at a fest or pub. The pre-fabric won't have the ultra black finish but it will give an idea of scale and fit. We are also working on a size chart to be posted on the website. For those with pre-orders, your shirts will be shipped first. We are waiting on pricing minimums to get things rolling. Cheers for now!

Glenn
